Main Pirongia School Banner showing our logo and motto and the mountain itself.

Our mural, shown below, depicts two children leaving our School on the yellow road of "hope" to face the challenges that life will offer.
The four ribbons represent the four houses of our School

  • Kakapo (Red)
  • Tui (Green)
  • Kiwi (Yellow)
  • Kea (Blue)

The blue ribbon also becomes a representation of the Waipa River which flows beside our village.
The fantail represents the staff and pupils of the school, bidding farewell to the children.
The Hot Air balloons represent Hamilton, our closest city.
The buildings on the right represent the cities of the world which could offer experiences and opportunities.
The books and black hat (among the buildings) represent the opportunities to further education that are available to all who leave us. The church represents the historical aspect of our area. The differing sky represents a day in the life. The game being played represents the importance of sports in our school and our district. The three spectators, standing beside the nearer goalpost, represent the three talented people who made this painting in the year 2001. They are: Sarah Akroyd, Shona Johnston and Maree Wood.
