An amazing day for our year 6 leaders who took part in the "Survivor" Leadership Day.
It's great to be me.
What a great night that was enjoyed by all. Fun, food and laughter were shared among whanau, teachers and students. What a wonderful night to celebrate our inquiry learning this term.
We have had a wonderful term of learning; we hope you enjoy what we have prepared.
Our inquiry rotations are well underway this term. Through film, sports and chemical experiences we are learning that science is all around us. It has been rewarding as teacher to see so many students going home and getting their whanau to film them as they prepare and explain an experiment they have done at home. We hope that students keep this up. Students will be required to edit and publish their final experiment on their personal blog at the end of the term.
A visit from the Hayden Family with their awesome jet boat. It was amazing. After hearing how it sounded out side, we all went inside and watched the racing on the big screen.
What a week! We kicked off our healthy eating program. Tracey from Energize came in this week and taught us all about "glow" foods and "slow" foods. We have to think about what we are putting into our bodies and the affect these foods are having on our bodies. Also we need to be mindful especially of sugar that is in our drinks and fat that is in the takeaways we tend to treat ourselves, possibly one to many times.
Week 10, Term 1 Mr Dodds the great artist turned up today at school. He captured all Kahikatea and Kawaka team students attention. Students and staff watched in amazement the transformation of blank canvas to a scarily human like possum. The students efforts in transferring his knowledge and skill to their own picture was truly an amazing thing to watch.
Week 9; We got to share our terms learning in assembly today. We did a live performance, and shared some art about how our brain works. We have learnt so much already this term. We have put together a short video to try and capture all the wonderful learning that has been going on in our team. We hope you enjoy it.

Week 7; Term 1. Our goal was 100% participation in the school triathlon. The weather was beautiful and parents were out in force. It was great to see students give it a go and be the best they could be.
