Camp Kaniwhaniwha Writing

18/3/2014

Camp Kaniwhaniwha

As the stream cascades down over the slippery boulders, my eyes take a minute to adjust to the breathtaking views. The grass tickles my toes, the sky’s painted a beautiful shade of blue, nowhere I’d rather be! The myriads of colourful tents are a bright rainbow yet to be seen. The trees whisper a wise old tale as they move to the rhythm of wind. The cicadas sing in harmony, the crickets hop cheerfully. The sun sinks down into it’s deep cave, the night tucks us in. Good night camp Kaniwhaniwha, I can’t wait to see what you bring for me tomorrow! -By Katie (Room 14)

The Living Surroundings

Tweet, tweet. As I lie in my tent I feel safe and secure.
Rustle, rustle. As I stand up I view a whole bush surrounding me.
Crackle, crackle. As I sit on a bench I watch the wood burn as it emits heat.
Chatter, chatter. As I walk around I hear words of warmth and comfort.
Splish, Splash. As I head down to the stream I hear the water calling me.
Wishy, washy. As I stand in the water it covers my feet as it sparkles in the sun.
Secure and safe, I feel relaxed.
Bush surrounding me, I fell protected.
Wood burning, I feel heat lifting spirits.
Warmth and comfort, I feel loved by others.
Water calling me, I feel possessed.
Water covers my feet, I feel calm and collected.
Kaniwhaniwha, dancing stream, a magical spot. -By Alistair (Room 14)
