Performers from 'Royal Jelly' theater company put on a show for Pirongia School. It was a great message about why bees are so important to us and our environment.
Pirongia School children and teachers gather at our school 'Field of Remembrance' to pay our respects to those who lost their lives at Gallipoli.
At Pirongia School we are very lucky to have our friends Nicky and Harold from Life Education visit us each year. This year Nicky and Harold talked to us about 'Relationships with Others'. We talked a lot about what feelings are, how they can change, what causes us to feel different things, and how we can show our kindness to our friends. Kowhai team did an excellent job of sharing their wonderful ideas with Nicky and Harold.
The Junior School had a visit from Project Energize, who were here to teach us about using life jackets safely. We learnt how to put life jackets on, enter the water safely and how to move in the water. We had so much fun! Check out our pics below...
On Tuesday the children of Kowhai team took the chance to explore Pirongia Mountain and walk the Mangakara track. Our maunga is very special to us and links directly to our school values and our team names, taken from the native trees that inhabit the mountain. We had a great time observing and talking about the insects, trees and stream that call the mountain home.
