We have been learning about the Māori New Year - Matariki. Matariki is the Māori name for the constellation of 7 stars also known as Pleiades. We are able to see Matariki during the month of June. We enjoyed learning tī rākau, waiata, stories and enjoyed a Matariki hākiri (shared lunch). We had a great time!
Tawa students teaching Rata students tī rākau.
